Salary of Central Government Employees can increase up to 34%: Currently minimum basic salary is Rs 18,000, 8th Pay Commission will be implemented from 1st January

New Delhi :- After the implementation of the Pay Commission, the salary of central government employees and pensioners may increase by 30% to 34%. According to the report of brokerage firm Ebitda Capital, the new fitment factor may be between 1.83 to 2.46, which will result in a huge increase in the basic salary of the employees.

When will it be implemented on 8th

The government will implement the 8th Pay Commission from January 1, 2026. The Pay Commission was approved on January 16, 2025.

In the 7th Pay Commission, the salary increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000

With the introduction of the 7nd Pay Commission, there was a substantial increase in the minimum basic salary, which was increased from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 18,000 by a fitment of 2.57 per cent. Similarly, there was a change in the pension as well, which was increased from Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 9,000. Besides, the commission also introduced a new pay scale for government employees.
